Who we are

The Directorate-General for Logistics and Interpretation for Conferences (DG LINC) provides the linguistic, technical and logistical support for the organisation of the parliamentary meetings, conferences of EP Members and bodies. By supplying state-of-the-art conference facilities, including high-quality interpretation services and conference organisation we contribute to facilitating the legislative process as well as helping to underpin the democratic legitimacy of the Institution.

The Conference Ushers Unit (CUU) is in charge of providing the necessary logistical and protocol support for the organisation of meetings, conferences, events and official visits at the European Parliament. It is a friendly and diverse team of 67 colleagues working in a political and multicultural environment.

The Conference Ushers have a recognisable image and are renowned for their professionalism and commitment. The unit is very highly regarded within the European Parliament thanks to its experience, teamwork, service culture and solution-oriented approach.

 

Your tasks

Your main tasks will consist of:

  • Assisting the team coordinators in the daily management of the organisational tasks of the service;
  • Contributing to the smooth running of events, high-level conferences and public meetings taking place in the European Parliament;
  • Supporting projects by attending meetings and contributing to project documentation: drafting minutes, analysing data, consolidating results, generating information graphics;
  • Supporting meeting and conference preparation by attending meetings, drafting minutes, interfacing with other services;
  • Helping with on-site activities on the day of meetings and conferences;
  • Contributing to some internal communication activities;
  • Contributing to certain logistical tasks and in general, supporting the unit in its mission of servicing meetings and conferences.

The traineeship will give you the opportunity to build on the knowledge acquired during your studies and to familiarise yourself with the activities of the European Parliament.

Careful attention will be paid to providing you with opportunities to develop an understanding of the Institution.
