Who we are
The Directorate-General for Infrastructure and Logistics (DG INLO) is responsible for overseeing the European Parliament's vast infrastructure portfolio, which spans around 1.3 million square meters of building space across Europe. This includes a variety of tasks that are crucial to ensuring the smooth functioning and sustainability of the Parliament's operations. DG INLO's responsibilities go beyond just building management, it is also in charge of a range of essential services such as catering, mail distribution, furniture management, and transport for Parliament Members and staff. This comprehensive approach ensures that all physical and logistical needs are met, supporting the European Parliament's political activities in a sustainable way.
Within DG INLO, the Directorate for Sustainable Mobility and Services is made of six units with our team based in all three sites of the European Parliament. Our mission is to provide high-standard services, to Members and staff, for catering, transport, sustainable mobility, mail distribution, purchases, office space management and moves.
Your tasks
In the context of enhancing the efficiency of its mobility and services, the Directorate for Sustainable Mobility and Services is looking for a dynamic trainee.
You will work closely with the director and play an active role in streamlining services across units.
Your main tasks will be the following:
- Provide numerical support to make the services offered more efficient and smarter;
- Contribute to the development of IT tools and to the adaptation of software features to operational needs;
- Help to develop applications and assess users requirements;
- Assist in the optimisation of logistical operations within the Directorate.
You are
- You have completed studies in engineering, mathematics, or IT. Knowledge of data analysis and statistics, as well as familiarity with Excel and IT systems, is an asset;
- You are proactive, meticulous and able to multitask with strong analytical and numerical skills, and eager to get involved in the improvement of innovate tools and processes;
- You should have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to liaise with many different interlocutors across Parliament's Secretariat;
- A very good command of English or French is essential. Other languages would be an asset.
