Who we are

The Directorate-General for Infrastructure and Logistics (DG INLO) is responsible for overseeing the European Parliament's vast infrastructure portfolio, which spans around 1.3 million square meters of building space across Europe. This includes a variety of tasks that are crucial to ensuring the smooth functioning and sustainability of the Parliament's operations. DG INLO's responsibilities go beyond just building management; it is also in charge of a range of essential services such as catering, mail distribution, furniture management, and transport for Parliament Members and staff. This comprehensive approach ensures that all physical and logistical needs are met, supporting the European Parliament’s political activities in a sustainable way.

Within the Directorate-General for Infrastructure and Logistics, the Research and Development Unit is responsible for forward-looking thinking on buildings, in support of the operational directorates. It works in particular on environmental aspects relating to energy, circularity, building adaptation processes and other aspects of sustainability. She bridges the gap between theoretical research and practical implementation in an "early follower" spirit. She works closely with the project and facility management teams at our Brussels, Luxembourg and Strasbourg sites.
