Who we are

The Directorate-General for Infrastructure and Logistics (DG INLO) is responsible for overseeing the European Parliament's vast infrastructure portfolio, which spans around 1.3 million square meters of building space across Europe. This includes a variety of tasks that are crucial to ensuring the smooth functioning and sustainability of the Parliament's operations. DG INLO's responsibilities go beyond just building management, it is also in charge of a range of essential services such as catering, mail distribution, furniture management, and transport for Parliament Members and staff. This comprehensive approach ensures that all physical and logistical needs are met, supporting the European Parliament's political activities in a sustainable way.  

Within the DG INLO, Our Luxembourg Facilities Management Unit is primarily responsible for the facility management of the buildings occupied by the European Parliament in Luxembourg.

We are committed to providing users of our buildings with all the services to ensure a pleasant working environment, in line with the objectives of reducing Parliament’s carbon footprint and at the same time implementing agile management methods.

As part of the development of its activities, the unit is looking for a trainee with a qualification in construction engineering or architecture to participate in the sector’s activities relating to facade, interior design and finishing work.

 

Your tasks

The intern will have to assist the Infrastructure Management Unit team, in the areas of intervention: insulation, stability, waterproofing, building layout, and more specifically in:

  • Support for the monitoring of maintenance related to facade, roof and interior fitting aspects;
  • Monitoring of points or reports opened on the management software;
  • The formalization of technical files, specifications covering this sector of activity;
  • The organization and management of any documentation relating to the field of activity, including on computer support;
  • Profile: architect or engineer in the building industry;
  • Knowledge in eco-construction and eco-management will be valuable;

A very good knowledge of French is required.

 

You are

  • You are an architect or building engineer;
  • You have a good knowledge of building construction techniques and building regulations and are able to work independently;
  • Experience in project or contract management is considered a strong asset;
  • A very good knowledge of French is required. Knowledge of English is considered an advantage.
