Who we are
The Directorate-General for Budgetary Affairs (DG BUDG) is responsible for organising the work of Parliament's committees on budgets and budgetary control and for providing policy support and analyses in the field of budget to committees and parliamentary bodies. The Resources Unit is directly placed under the Director-General's responsibility.
We are a small team of 10 colleagues with 6 different nationalities. We are managing the resources of the Directorate-General for Budgetary Affairs. Resources means the human resources (HR) and the financial funds of the DG. Part of the human resources management are the publication of vacancies, recruitment of new colleagues, the organisation of staff missions, professional training measures, distribution of office space, and internal communication. We are supporting the management and the other units of the DG by providing services for HR and finance.
Your tasks
You will be trained on the specific tasks of an assistant in a parliamentary body. Colleagues from the secretariats of the Committee on Budgets and on Budgetary Control will introduce you to the IT tools and recurring workflows of their units. Tasks are in the field of secretarial and technical office work in an administration, for example the preparation of documents like parliamentary reports and opinions, the technical organisation of committee meetings, the ordering of translation for documents, the booking of meeting rooms, and in general the assistance to the administrators of the unit.
You are
- Ideally, you should have experience of at least two years with administrative, secretarial and technical office work;
- You should possess IT proficiency and knowledge of Office suites;
- Preferably, you should be fluent both in English and French and be able to communicate with people from different cultural backgrounds;
- You should be open-minded, a quick learner, team-oriented, flexible, working prudent and precise, ambitious to deliver.
