Who we are
The Directorate-General for Cohesion, Agriculture and Social Policies (DG CASP) is responsible for organising the work of the Parliament's AGRI, EMPL, HOUS, PECH, REGI, and TRAN Committees and for assisting Members in the exercise of the legislative, budgetary and oversight powers conferred upon the European Parliament.
The core responsibility of DG CASP is to support the parliamentary committees, including Members, Chairs and Rapporteurs in dealing with the following policy areas: regional development, agriculture, rural development, fisheries, transport, tourism, employment, social affairs and housing crisis in the EU. More concretely, DG CASP provides committees with secretariats and research units responsible for policy expertise and procedural assistance for all committee activities, including legislative and non-legislative work, meetings, public hearings, workshops and missions.
DG CASP Central Team is directly attached to the Director-General and is responsible for coordinating the activities of the DG and implementing DG-wide objectives. We are a close team operating in a fast-pace and multicultural environment.
Your tasks
Your main tasks will consist of:
- Actively participating in the daily work of the Director-General’s team;
- Proactively support the team in horizontal tasks;
- Contribute to assessing administrative operations;
- Preparing for and taking part in meetings and events;
- Draft and prepare minutes, letters, and notes;
- Supporting team cohesion initiatives across the DG;
- Monitoring media for related coverage, including drafting policy overviews when necessary;
- Assisting with content creation for DG CASP and the DG social media channels.
A traineeship with the Central Team will give you the opportunity to build on the knowledge you already have and to develop an understanding of how the European Parliament works. Your tasks will be adapted to your previous experience as far as possible in order to provide the best environment for you to develop professionally.
You are

- Comfortable with new technologies, with good communication skills (oral, written, visual);

- Studies and/or background in: administration studies, administrative management, communication or political science would be a strong asset;
- Fluency in English (oral and written) and a good knowledge of French is required.
