Who we are
The Directorate-General for Finance, hereinafter DG FINS, is responsible for Parliament’s budgetary and financial management. Based in both Luxembourg and Brussels, it draws up Parliament's budget, keeps Parliament’s accounts and prepares its financial statements, manages Members' allowances and entitlements, and finances Parliament’s political groups, as well as political parties and foundations at European level. DG FINS consists of three Directorates, 17 Units and the Central Secretariat. DG FINS plays a key and varied role in Parliament’s administration and is a trusted interlocutor for Members and political authorities. Joining DG FINS as a trainee will certainly boost your career. The IT and e-Portal Unit is managing IT and logistics for DG FINS and the e-Portal for Members' financial entitlements.
In details, this means:
- Ensuring the proper functioning of the IT infrastructure of DG FINS;
- Coordinating and participating in the functional analysis for the financial applications for the Members administration including its helpdesk support;
- Managing the e-Portal, a digital single point of entry for Members of the European Parliament - available in all EU languages to submit their financial and administrative entitlements online;
- Managing DG FINS’ logistics (office space and furniture).
Your tasks
You will mainly work with the Information technology and the e-Portal Service on technical and support issues. Your tasks and projects will be:
- Involvement in the testing of new developments/features of the e-Portal for Members;
- Testing the application from a new user point of view (accessibility, friendliness, navigation);
- Revision of the internal Wiki knowledge database and other internal website;
- Creation of video tutorials/user guides as self-help for the e-Portal application users as well as for other application and services;
- Providing support to e-Portal users.
In addition, you might assist and support the other sectors of the unit by attending and following-up meetings, preparing analyses, carrying out general administration tasks, and so on.
You are
You:
- Have a good, positive and motivated attitude;
- Enjoy working in a multinational team;
- Are flexible towards stressful situations and changes;
- Have a background or experience in IT, communication, graphic design;
- Have good IT skills and understanding;
- Have some experience with video tutorials software and an eye for details;
- Preferably have some experience with Wiki and Jira;
- Have a good written and spoken English;
- Already have some experience in project management;
- You are able to think strategically;
