If you would like to gain experience in the field of human resources within a large multicultural organization such as the European Parliament, apply for one of the traineeships in DG PERS!

The Directorate-General for Personnel (DG PERS) is broadly responsible for managing the human resources of the European Parliament's Secretariat, so that it can provide the Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) with the assistance they need to fulfil their mandate.

More specifically, DG PERS manages the different groups of staff throughout their career, in areas such as:

  • Selection, recruitment, entry, training, career development
  • Management of rights and obligations, salary, allowances, pension rights
  • Protection and well-being at work
  • Strategies to improve and promote equality, diversity and inclusion
  • Management of trainees
  • Internal communication in the institution.

The Brussels Medical Service offers services to Members and the European Parliament’s staff in the field of occupational, statutory, preventive, general and emergency medicine in Brussels and Strasbourg.

 

Your tasks

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team composed of medical advisors, nurses, psychologists, social workers, and medical administrative staff and will have a particular responsibility.  

This includes, among others:

  • Assisting the medical team with various nursing tasks;
  • Dealing with various clinical situation on daily basis;
  • Carrying out various administrative tasks;
  • Carrying out medical recruitment, annual and aptitude visits;
  • Administering vaccines, particularly in the frame of travel medicine.

The candidate trainee will work in a team and receive proper training.

 

You are

The candidate trainee must have a high degree of flexibility and the ability to carry out different tasks in parallel.

The position requires:

  • Strong listening skills;
  • A high degree of confidentiality (medical secrecy and data protection);
  • Rigour and good interpersonal skills;
  • A good command of computer applications is essential;
  • For functional reasons, a very good knowledge of English or French (spoken and written);
  • Knowledge related to occupational medicine would be an important asset.
