Who we are
We are a small team of four people within the Cabinet of the Secretary-General of the European Parliament. We assist and advise the Secretary-General on issues related to parliamentary activities that include legislation, scrutiny, budgetary matters, inter-institutional relations and external affairs. Our responsibilities pertain to the workflow of several parliamentary bodies, such as the Conference of Presidents, the Conference of Committee Chairs, the Conference of Delegations Chairs, committees and inter-parliamentary standing delegations.
Together with the other teams in the Cabinet of the Secretary-General, we assist the Secretary-General in providing the necessary administrative support to parliamentary bodies. Our job entails monitoring of and coordination between various Directorates-General and services. Our tasks include preparation of and reporting on meetings, drawing up and revising notes and briefings on a wide range of topics, and preparing or revising letters for the signature of the President or of the Secretary-General.
Your tasks
- You will be asked to attend and report on meetings (e.g. committees, delegations, other parliamentary bodies), undertake research on various parliamentary topics, and produce briefings and notes for the use of the team;
- You will monitor ongoing legislative and non-legislative files, identifying possible issues and proposing solutions.
You are
- We are looking for a candidate able to demonstrate strong research, summarizing and writing skills;
- Tact and discretion are key requirements for the job;
- If you are diligent, flexible, responsive, autonomous, eager to learn, as well as able to adapt swiftly and to deliver quickly, we would be glad to work with you;
- Fluency in English is required;
- Knowledge of other official languages would be an asset.
