Who we are

If you would like to gain experience in the field of human resources within a large multicultural organisation such as the European Parliament, apply for one of the traineeships in DG PERS!

The Directorate-General for Personnel (DG PERS) is broadly responsible for managing the human resources of the European Parliament's Secretariat, so that it can provide the Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) with the assistance they need to fulfil their mandate.

More specifically, DG PERS manages the different groups of staff throughout their career, in areas such as:

  • Selection, recruitment, entry, training, career development;
  • Management of rights and obligations, salary, allowances, pension rights;
  • Protection and well-being at work;
  • Strategies to improve and promote equality, diversity and inclusion;
  • Management of trainees;
  • Internal communication in the institution.

We are the Learning and Development Unit.

Our mission is to offer learning and development (L&D) solutions to a highly qualified workforce that support MEPs. We believe that L&D plays a key role in the European Parliament to ensure a resilient and effective European democracy.

This traineeship will offer you the opportunity to explore the L&D activities in the EP.

You will be part of a team of professionals offering learning solutions to people working in the European Parliament.

You will be helping our clients - departments, individual learners - strengthen their skills, manage change and increase motivation within their teams.

Our team is responsible for managing the learning offer on IT skills and learning technologies to all staff of the European Parliament. We are service-oriented and try to assist our colleagues as much as we can. We are always open for better solutions and innovation. We work a lot and we have fun doing it.

 

Your tasks

During your traineeship, you will:

  • Assist with the management of the EP training center in Luxembourg;
  • Contribute to the planning and the administrative organisation of all type of courses for the personnel of the Parliament;
  • Work with EP's learning management system and with other supporting learning platforms in force in the EP, such as LinkedIn Learning and Howspace;
  • Have an opportunity to co-design training seminars and courses, participate in meetings with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Participate in team-wide and transversal improvement initiatives;
  • Contribute to projects in the field of learning technologies according to your interests and prior experience.

 

You are

  • Interested in learning and development and willing to move topics forward to your best ability;
  • A positive thinker who likes to give good service to clients, even if they are in a hurry;
  • Someone who enjoys juggling different areas of work and is flexible;
  • Someone digitally savvy with good working knowledge of MS Office;
  • Multilingual, speak and write English + other EU official language(s);
  • Ideally also interested in either facility logistics or IT related topics (or both).
