If you would like to gain experience in the field of human resources within a large multicultural organisation such as the European Parliament, apply for one of the traineeships in DG PERS!

The Directorate-General for Personnel (DG PERS) is broadly responsible for managing the human resources of the European Parliament's Secretariat, so that it can provide the Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) with the assistance they need to fulfil their mandate.

More specifically, DG PERS manages the different groups of staff throughout their career, in areas such as:

  • Selection, recruitment, entry, training, career development;
  • Management of rights and obligations, salary, allowances, pension rights;
  • Protection and well-being at work;
  • Strategies to improve and promote equality, diversity and inclusion;
  • Management of trainees;
  • Internal communication in the institution.

We are the Learning and Development Unit.

Our mission is to offer learning and development (L&D) solutions to a highly qualified workforce that support MEPs. We believe that L&D plays a key role in the European Parliament to ensure a resilient and effective European democracy.

This traineeship will offer you the opportunity to explore the L&D activities in the EP.

You will be part of a team of professionals offering learning solutions to people working in the European Parliament.

You will be helping our clients - departments, individual learners - strengthen their skills, manage change and increase motivation within their teams.

The Strategic projects team is a small team set up for delivery of two strategic projects with impact on the entire organisation. We work closely with DG Personnel and the Inter-DG taskforces to ensure that our solutions meet their specific needs and support the shift towards a competency-based approach to HR services. We are dynamic, digitally savvy and open-minded people, constantly seeking new ways to leverage smart data and technologies usage to drive implementation of our projects. Our team culture is characterised by a collegial and supportive atmosphere that encourages learning, collaboration and creativity.

   

Your tasks

You will be part of a small team managing two Strategic Execution Framework projects. The main milestones to be achieved within both projects:

  • Review job profiles of the European Parliament;
  • Identify competency set per job profile;
  • Design onboarding paths for critical job profiles.

During your traineeship, you will:

  • Have an opportunity to work on competency framework design for all job profiles in the EP together with the internal team and industry experts;
  • Help design, curate and implement workshops for professional users (HR professionals, Learning professionals) and end user audiences (staff in appraisal, staff in mobility) related to mainstreaming competency-based HR;
  • Participate in ideation, design and implementation of learning analytics for various departments;
  • Participate in the work of Inter-DG taskforces, set up to contextualise project milestones delivery to specific job families and profiles within them.

 

You are

If you are:

  • Someone who likes to interact and moderate groups/communities;
  • Someone who understands various learning methodologies (blended learning course design would be a plus);
  • Someone interested in talent development;
  • Someone digitally savvy;
  • Multilingual, speak and write English + other EU official language(s);
  • Proficient in MS office (Word, PowerPoint, strong Excel Power Queries & Pivots would be a plus);
  • Someone with data visualisation skills;
  • Someone with working knowledge of Power BI platform (would be a plus);
  • Self-driven and can work independently;
  • Taking ownership of tasks and want to be responsible for delivering high-quality work;
  • A fast learner, flexible, adaptable and enjoying team work.
