Who we are

The Directorate-General for Security and Safety’s (DG SAFE) mission is to ensure the security and safety of people and property within the European Parliament, in all three workplaces. It shall endeavour to minimise the existing level of security risk in order to provide a safe and serene working environment for the services of the Institution and its Members while allowing the European Parliament to maintain the openness and transparency that characterise it.

The Information Security and Analysis Unit contributes to guarantee the implementation of internal procedures relating to security clearances and security screenings in close collaboration with the competent services and national authorities, to provide a specialised electronic countermeasures service to Members, parliamentary bodies and administrative entities, to ensure the drafting, management and auditing of the implementation of the information security policy and its implementing rules, to provide advice, assistance and policy guidance on aspects of the management of risks to security of information, including the means for protecting any confidential information (Information Assurance).

 

Your tasks

The trainee assigned to the team will perform a range of activities to support the Unit:

  • Participate in the design of awareness-raising campaigns on information security;
  • Provide support to OSINT (Open Source Intelligence) searches;
  • Provide support to the security verifications of external staff;
  • Support the activities in the area of cooperation with other services and institutions;
  • Monitor security-related issues within the area of competence of the Unit;
  • Draft and edit reports on a variety of topics.

 

You are

The Information Security and Analysis Unit is looking for a motivated trainee interested in security, safety, information security policy, and getting involved in a diversity of security-related tasks and challenges.

A high level of French and English is required for the daily work. Any other EU language is an asset.

Other required competencies are:

  • Capacity to gather, analyse and process data;
  • Drafting skills;
  • Sense of initiative;
  • Very good computer skills.
