If you would like to gain experience in the field of human resources within a large multicultural organisation such as the European Parliament, apply for one of the traineeships in DG PERS!

The Directorate-General for Personnel (DG PERS) is broadly responsible for managing the human resources of the European Parliament's Secretariat, so that it can provide the Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) with the assistance they need to fulfil their mandate.

More specifically, DG PERS manages the different groups of staff throughout their career, in areas such as:

  • Selection, recruitment, entry, training, career development;
  • Management of rights and obligations, salary, allowances, pension rights;
  • Protection and well-being at work;
  • Strategies to improve and promote equality and diversity;
  • Management of trainees;
  • Internal communication in the institution.

 

Your tasks

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team composed of medical advisers, nurses, psychologists, social workers, and (medical)administrative staff and will have a particular responsibility.  

This includes, among others:

  • Carrying out administrative work related to the Mental Health First Aid Training Program, including updating training material and creating a communication channel for trainers and creating presentations;
  • Organising online social service folders;
  • Organising social service archives according to social service data protection policy;
  • Managing requests for appointments/interventions by email and/or phone for the social service;
  • Developing user-friendly brochures on topics which are frequently dealt with by social workers;
  • Updating the external resources folder;
  • Data research, analysis, chart creation and statistical methods.

 

You are

The candidate trainee must have a high degree of flexibility and the ability to carry out different tasks in parallel.

The position requires:

  • Strong listening skills and empathy;
  • A high degree of confidentiality (medical secrecy and data protection);
  • Rigour, good interpersonal skills and being team-oriented;
  • A good command of computer applications is essential as well as drafting skills;
  • For functional reasons, a very good knowledge of English or French (spoken and written); a very good knowledge of both languages is an important asset;
  • Knowledge related to psychosocial issues or experience in social services would be an important asset.
