The European Parliament stands for European democracy. We help connect it to people. 

This entails providing complete and impartial information to citizens and media about the European Parliament, and assisting Members in their communication activities. The Directorate-General for Communication (DG COMM) strives to reach and engage the right audience with the right message at the right time and in doing so, deliver world-class communication. We are committed communication professionals coming from various professional and academic backgrounds.

Visiting the European Parliament in Strasbourg enables citizens to build a direct relationship with the European institutions and examine Europe from a European perspective. Europa Experiences are bringing the visitor experience to citizens around Europe.

The Visitors and Citizens Liaison Unit - Strasbourg serves as a contact point for citizens and visitors at the seat of the European Parliament in Strasbourg. It liaises with local and regional authorities, international organisations based in Strasbourg and the diplomatic corps.

Euroscola gives young citizens from member states, candidate countries and former member states the opportunity to learn more about the European Parliament, its role, and functioning through an immersive journey to the hemicycle in Strasbourg. VCLU manages Euroscola from concept to delivery, from preparation to the follow-up.

 

Your tasks

  • Actively participate in the organisation of the Euroscola programme in Strasbourg;
  • Support the team in day-to-day tasks and in the smooth running of the event days;
  • Communicate with participants from all over Europe;
  • Take part in the organisation of other European and cross-border events;
  • Draft input for external communication and support team in developing communication strategies;
  • Participate in regular meetings with internal and external stakeholders.

 

You are

  • An excellent communicator both orally and in writing;
  • Experienced or strongly interested in event management, intercultural communication and youth events;
  • Ideally, fluent in French and English; knowledge of German is considered an asset;
  • A team player who enjoys working as part of a dynamic unit;
  • Creative, curious and enjoy developing new ways of communicating and organising;
  • Flexible and enjoy working on a variety of subjects.
