The European Parliament stands for European democracy. We help connect it to people.
This entails providing complete and impartial information to citizens and media about the European Parliament, and assisting Members in their communication activities. The Directorate-General for Communication (DG COMM) strives to reach and engage the right audience with the right message at the right time and in doing so, deliver world-class communication. We are committed communication professionals coming from various professional and academic backgrounds.
Our unit is in charge of all financial procedures for the European Parliament Liaison Offices in all 27 member states and in the UK. We are a team of 13 officials from many different countries, have a good gender balance and we like to go for a coffee / tea all together. Team spirit is very important as we work under high pressure and we have to manage around 2.000 procedures per year. The fields of our work cover establishment of new internet contracts, media buying for big campaigns, organization of movie screenings of the LUX films or the search for staff for the newly opened Europa Experience to name a few. This means to work closely with the colleagues in all EU capitals, some regional offices and in several other units in DG COMM.
Trainees are offered to go once during the traineeship to Strasbourg and we will make sure that you have also time to see the press conferences organised by MEPs, visit the hemicycle and get to know the Institution from inside.
Your tasks
We are looking for someone with a flavor for data mining, analyzing the expenditure and the results of tender procedures and helping us to better structure our reporting system. You will be asked to prepare data reports and bring them into a nice visual, easy to understand with the help of tools like Prezi and working with pivot tables, Business Objectives etc.
You are
A dynamic colleague, with interest in data and good communication skills. A bachelor in political science, social science is as good as business administration.
