The Directorate-General for Communication (DG COMM) strives to reach and engage the right audience with the right message at the right time and in doing so, deliver world-class communication. We are committed communication professionals coming from various professional and academic backgrounds.

We, the DG COMM Webmaster Unit, are looking for a Test Analyst trainee.

We offer you the opportunity to join a highly motivated QA team (Quality Assurance) that is composed of 5 people.

The team is part of the DG COMM Webmaster Unit, which develops and maintains many websites of the European Parliament.

The QA team tests the developments performed by colleagues of the Unit, and focuses mainly on the following aspects:

  • Functional manual and automated testing;
  • Compatibility Testing;
  • Regression Testing;
  • Some performance testing;
  • Web accessibility testing

Projects covered are diverse and very interesting, such as for instance the website of the recent European Elections.

Your tasks

As a test analyst trainee, you would be involved in the following:

  • Review software requirements to ensure they are clear and complete;
  • Work closely with business analysts to determine the scope and the granularity of the tests;
  • Create and execute tests to check the functionality of the software works as expected;
  • Raise issues with the development team when the application does not behave as expected;
  • Manage defect logging and defect tracking using project relevant tools;
  • Work with business stakeholders to identify the priority and severity of defects raised;
  • Work with the support team to identify workarounds and solutions for production issues.

  • You studied Computer Sciences / Information Technologies / Telecommunication Engineering or equivalent;
  • You have Java or other coding experience.
