Your tasks

The Protocol Team within the Cabinet of the European Parliament President is responsible for organising the President's participation in high-level events within the Parliament and outside of it. Driven to assist the Parliament President in maintaining the high standards in how they present themselves to high-level counterparts, special guests and dignitaries, the Protocol Team within the Cabinet of the European Parliament President ensures that every practical and logistical detail in the President's programme is meticulously planned and flawlessly executed, working with other teams within the Cabinet and the Parliament's services to achieve this.

The trainee will perform the following tasks:

  • Support the practical and logistic organisation of the President's missions to Member States and third countries;
  • Assist in the preparation of the various letters, programmes, reports and notes;
  • Follow-up on activities in relation to official events and the President's missions;
  • Research information on a variety of subjects to support the President's missions;
  • Provide support to the Protocol officers in their daily tasks.

 

You are

We are looking for a motivated and dynamic trainee to assist the Protocol team with tasks related to the organisation of the official events and travels.

Essential:

  • Proficient in using the Microsoft Office package (including Outlook);
  • In possession of organisational skills, flexible and able to respect deadlines;
  • Open to working in a multi-cultural and fast-paced environment and in a team, with good degree of personal autonomy;
  • A good communicator;
  • Detail-oriented and have a meticulous approach;
  • Pro-active, motivated, curious, innovative and able to switch with relative ease across different topics.

Desirable:

  • Experience or interest in working in Protocol and organising high-level events would be an asset;
  • Knowledge of the EU institutions and understanding the EU decision-making process would be an asset;
  • Language proficiency in English and French, both written and oral, are highly desirable. Any other EU languages would be an asset;
  • Preferable background would be in the domain of Political Sciences, Humanities or Social sciences or any other relevant experience.
