Who we are

The Directorate-General for Finance, hereinafter DG FINS, is responsible for Parliament’s budgetary and financial management. Based in both Luxembourg and Brussels, it draws up Parliament's budget, manages Members' allowances and entitlements, and finances Parliament’s political groups, as well as political parties and foundations at European level. Of particular importance will be the next European elections for which DG FINS will be a front liner. DG FINS consists of 16 Units organised in three Directorates and the Central Secretariat. DG FINS plays a key and varied role in Parliament’s administration and is a trusted interlocutor for Members and political authorities. Joining DG FINS as a trainee will certainly boost your career. We value diversity, promote equal opportunities, and foster inclusion.

This traineeship will take place equally in two administrative entities that collaborate closely: the Human Resources and Organisation Unit (HROU) and the Communications Team.

The HROU is a small diverse team of six members. It provides key HR services in a decentralised manner and develops DG FINS' human capital by improving employees’ skills, performance and experience. The Communications Team of two members forms part of DG FINS’ Central Secretariat, reporting directly to the Director-General. It designs various types of communications and initiatives to foster the information flow and good working relationships inside and outside of the DG.
