The Directorate-General for Personnel (DG PERS) is broadly responsible for managing the human resources of the European Parliament's Secretariat, so that it can provide the Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) with the assistance they need to fulfil their mandate.

More specifically, DG PERS manages the different groups of staff throughout their career, in areas such as:

  • Selection, recruitment, entry, training, career development;
  • Management of rights and obligations, salary, allowances, pension rights;
  • Protection and well-being at work;
  • Strategies to improve and promote equality and diversity;
  • Management of trainees;
  • Internal communication in the institution.

The APA Front Office Unit is waiting for you!

The APA Front Office Unit is responsible for the recruitment of APAs and is the contact point for questions regarding APAs’ Human Resources matters (namely recruitment, contract modifications, resignations and dismissal procedures).

 

Your tasks

As a trainee in the APA Front Office Unit:

  • You will be at the heart of events in the field of human resources - in direct contact with the Accredited Parliamentary Assistants (APA), you will provide information and advice regarding the recruitment, modification and end of contract procedures;
  • You will manage the requests of the Members of European Parliament regarding the contracts of the Accredited Parliamentary Assistants;
  • You will acquire practical knowledge necessary for human resources management, including its legal aspects;
  • You will participate in meetings, trainings and all other activities of the unit and you will bring valuable support to our team.

 

You are

If you have:

  • Good communication skills and flair for interpersonal contact as well as a client-oriented approach;
  • Good organisational skills and ability to work in a team as well as independently;
  • Good knowledge of English and French; knowledge of another language or languages will be an asset;
  • Good knowledge of MS Office tools (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and readiness to work with new applications;
  • Good human resources and/or legal and/or financial competences, as these will be an asset.
