Who we are

The Directorate-General for Infrastructure and Logistics (DG INLO) contributes to the effective technical and administrative management of infrastructure and logistics (catering, mail, removals, furniture, transport, etc.) within and between the Parliament's workplaces. Our DG is also responsible for managing the equipment and services necessary for the functionality of these buildings. Through their efforts, the staff of DG INLO provides essential support for the European Parliament's political activities.

Within DG INLO, the objective of the Purchases and Planning Unit is to ensure swift deliveries of high-quality technical equipment, office stationery, professional garments and promotional objects to Parliament's services through existing and newly awarded contracts, focusing on new needs including environmental, social and local sourcing aspects.

 

Your tasks

You will learn the whole process for purchase of different types of movable items for European Parliament's administration, be it office furniture and supplies, technical equipment or service garments for EP staff. You will assist in drafting purchase orders, receiving and verifying invoices from contractors and drafting explanatory notes for the authorising officer. You will also follow different types of public procurement procedures for products within remit of the Purchases Unit.

 

You are

In the context of the development of its activities, the Purchases Unit of DG INLO is looking for a person with good interpersonal, customer-oriented and communication skills, a flair for innovation, critical thinking, analytical assessment of various options, ability to construe what represents value for the European Parliament and good drafting and oral negotiation skills – internally and externally.

A very good knowledge of English and French is required; knowledge of German and/or Dutch would be an asset.

The chosen person should be a quick learner, able to face new challenges and have good understanding of the public spending.

Experience and/or extensive knowledge of public procurement rules as well as a university degree in law, business or economics/econometrics would be an asset.
