Who we are

The Directorate-General for Infrastructure and Logistics (DG INLO) contributes to the effective technical and administrative management of infrastructure and logistics (catering, mail, removals, furniture, transport, etc.) within and between the Parliament's workplaces. Our DG is also responsible for managing the equipment and services necessary for the functionality of these buildings. Through their efforts, the staff of DG INLO provides essential support for the European Parliament's political activities.

Within the Directorate-General for Infrastructure and Logistics, the Strasbourg Current Building Projects Unit is in charge of executing energy, environmental, sustainable and accessibility projects in the European Parliament premises in Strasbourg which comprise more than 340.000 m2 in surface.

The Unit's activities consist in preparing the long term building renovation policy in order to comply with the objectives of “Fit for 55” as well as monitoring all the resulting phases of the development of the projects:

  • Analysis of the buildings’ energetic and environmental performances;
  • Establishing the recommendations for renovation and upgrading of buildings;
  • Analysis of functional needs;
  • Establishment of the program;
  • Technical feasibility;
  • Studies;
  • Contacts with public authorities;
  • Application for building permits;
  • Tendering procedures;
  • Awarding of contracts;
  • Monitoring the execution of the works;
  • Transfer of completed works to the users.

This activity requires a good knowledge of the environmental regulations and a capacity to analyse technical data as well as abilities in all fields of the building area.

 

Your tasks

In collaboration with the Strasbourg Environment and Accessibility Upgrade Unit, you will be in charge of various tasks, such as:

  • Analyse technical data;
  • Identify environmental improvement opportunities;
  • Take part in the setting up of the content of technical studies;
  • Prepare presentations.

 

You are

  • Engineer/architect trained in environmental, energy efficiency or sustainable building technics;
  • Motivated, curious, dynamic, creative, autonomous, well-organized, rigorous, capacity to propose solutions;
  • With analytical mind;
  • Capable to work in a team;
  • With a godd command of French and English;
  • Desirable: good command of PowerPoint, Photoshop, Autocad, SketchUp, Revit or similar 3D space models programmes.
