Who we are

If you would like to gain experience in the field of human resources within a large multicultural organisation such as the European Parliament, apply for one of the traineeships in DG PERS!

The Directorate-General for Personnel (DG PERS) is broadly responsible for managing the human resources of the European Parliament's Secretariat, so that it can provide the Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) with the assistance they need to fulfil their mandate.

More specifically, DG PERS manages the different groups of staff throughout their career, in areas such as:

We are the Trainee Outreach and Recruitment Unit and we are in charge of "Schuman" and "MEP" traineeships in the European Parliament. These are traineeships in the Secretariat of the European Parliament and traineeships with Members of the European Parliament respectively.

More specifically, we oversee the application and recruitment process of Schuman trainees, in collaboration with all the Directorates-General and we take care of the recruitment of MEP trainees upon request of Members.

We also deal with all aspects related to the administrative matters of trainees, as well as providing them with all the necessary information and support. In addition, we are responsible for promoting our traineeship schemes on social media and through different outreach events, such as career seminars and job fairs.
