Who we are

The Directorate General for Security and Safety’s (DG SAFE) mission is to ensure the safety of people and property within the European Parliament, in all three workplaces (Brussels, Strasbourg, Luxembourg), including fire, panic and first aid prevention. It shall endeavour to minimise the existing level of security risk in order to provide a safe and serene working environment for the services of the Institution and its Members while allowing the European Parliament to maintain the openness and transparency that characterise it.

The Human Resources Unit is responsible, amongst others, for:

  • Implementing the annual operational planning of surveillance and prevention missions for 700 colleagues of DG SAFE;
  • Establishing and strategically managing the human resources of DG SAFE;
  • implementing the wellbeing policy within DG SAFE.

 

Your tasks

Within the unit, you will join the “recruitment” team, engaging yourself in various actions that we undertake aimed at improving the management of human resources and focusing on selection and recruitment processes.

As a trainee, you will be involved in various tasks within this team:

  • Supporting HR forward planning;
  • Participating in the follow-up of the KPIs (key performance indicators);
  • Updating selection and recruitment procedures;
  • Contributing to the development of the onboarding strategy for newcomers in collaboration with the logistic and training teams, etc.

 

You are

  • A university graduate with an academic background in HR, Public Administration and/or Social sciences;
  • Proactive and open to working in a multicultural and fast-paced environment;
  • Innovative and creative at work;
  • With a sense of confidentiality;
  • A great communicator, both orally and in writing;
  • Fluent in French and English as these are our internal working languages.
