The Cabinet of the European Parliament President contributes to help the President to let people recapture a sense of belief and enthusiasm for the European project. Make our shared space safer, fairer, more just and more equal and forging a stronger Europe that motivates a younger and more sceptical audience to believe in Europe.

The Private Office and Public Relations is responsible for communication, speech writing, protocol, agenda of the President and deals with correspondence, administrations and logistics. 

 

Your tasks

  • Assist in the preparation of the various letters, programmes, reports and notes;
  • Support the practical and logistic organisation of the official visits;
  • Follow up of activities in relation with official events and travel;
  • Research of information related to all sorts of subjects;
  • Where relevant participation in meetings and plenary session and prepare minutes;
  • Provide support to the Head of Private Office and Protocol Liaison Officers in their daily tasks.

 

You are

We are looking for a motivated and dynamic trainee to assist the director and the team in the management of the Private Office with tasks related to the organisation of the Cabinet, financial, administrative, and protocol matters linked to official events and travels.

Essential:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office package (including Outlook);
  • Excellent organizational skills, flexibility and ability to work with deadlines;
  • Openness to work in a multicultural and fast-paced environment and in a team with good degree of personal autonomy;
  • Good communication skills;
  • Researching information related to all sorts of subjects;
  • Detail-oriented and a meticulous approach pro-active, motivated, curious, innovative and be able to switch with relative ease on different topics;
  • Preferable background would be in the domain of Political Sciences, Humanities or Social sciences or any other relevant experience.

Desirable:

  • Experience or interest in working in Protocol and organising high-level events would be an asset;
  • Knowledge of the EU institutions and understanding the EU decision-making process would be an asset;
  • Language proficiency in English and French, both written and orally are highly desirable. Any other EU languages would be an asset.
