Catering Unit - open also for vocational education qualification holders

The Directorate-General for Infrastructure and Logistics (DG INLO) is responsible for overseeing the European Parliament's vast infrastructure portfolio, which spans around 1.3 million square meters of building space across Europe. This includes a variety of tasks that are crucial to ensuring the smooth functioning and sustainability of the Parliament's operations. DG INLO's responsibilities go beyond just building management; it is also in charge of a range of essential services such as catering, mail distribution, furniture management, and transport for Parliament Members and staff. This comprehensive approach ensures that all physical and logistical needs are met, supporting the European Parliament’s political activities in a sustainable way.

In the context of the development of its activities, the Catering Unit of DG INLO is looking for a person with a qualification in hospitality services / catering and / or hygiene.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to and learn about the following tasks:

• Manage and monitor the various catering contracts, including procurement aspects;
• Work on events management involving catering (receptions), including the preparatory phase;
• Collect and analyse data, prepare notes and reports and presentations;
• Participate in continuous "client satisfaction" improvement projects.

The selected person must have a good command of French and / or English, show interest in the catering sector and the management of contracts; good writing and communication skills, problem-solving and adaptability, and have a lot of curiosity and be eager to learn.

You have obtained a Vocational education qualification (EQF level 3, 4 or 5) or a university degree (level 6 of EQF or higher) at least three months before the starting date of the traineeship.
