Who we are
The Directorate-General for Security and Safety (DG SAFE) ensures the safety and security of the persons, buildings and assets within the European Parliament’s premises. In addition, it commits to provide high-quality security services by developing modern working methods, digitalised processes and using state-of-the-art technologies and equipment.
DG SAFE's Directorate for Technologies and Information encompasses a range of activities from the provision of information, analysis, advice as well as technology solutions in the field of security for Members, parliamentary bodies and services, to the management of crisis and risk assessments. The Directorate also ensures coordination, operational liaison and information exchange with the security services of other EU institutions, bodies and agencies, as well as with the police and security services of the Member States. Moreover, the Directorate helps to ensure the security of EP's delegations and committees during their missions outside the three workplaces by ensuring the Crisis Cell coordination and its secretariat.
Your tasks
- Providing general support for transversal activities and projects at Directorate level, including coordination and information-sharing between units;
- Support activities of the Units within the Directorate and the Crisis Cell in the areas of risk assessment, information security, internal investigations and security engineering;
- Assisting with the preparation of briefings, notes, presentations, reports, and other working documents in the areas of competence of the Directorate for Technologies and Information;
- Assisting with the preparation and follow-up of meetings, working groups and coordination activities with the units of the Directorate and the Crisis Cell;
- Contributing to prepare reports, statistics, summaries and other management information for the Directorate and its units.
You are
We are looking for a motivated trainee interested in security, safety, information security policy, and getting involved in a diversity of security-related tasks and challenges.
A high level of English is required for the daily work. Any other EU languages, especially French, are considered an asset.
The candidate should have obtained/will obtain a university degree (level 6 of EQF or higher) at least three months before the starting date of the traineeship.
Other required competencies are:
- Capacity to gather, analyse and process data;
- Drafting skills;
- Sense of initiative;
- Very good computer skills.
