Who we are

As the voice of citizens, the European Parliament stands for European democracy. Directorate-General for Communication (DG COMM) amplifies its message of the Parliament to reach every corner of Europe. We help connect Members of Parliament to the people they represent, and we communicate what the Parliament is, what it does, and what it stands for. When Parliament speaks, we make sure it’s heard.

We are committed communication professionals coming from various professional and academic backgrounds.

Citizens are welcome to experience visits to the Parlamentarium, House of European History and Info Hub in Brussels, and both the Hemicycles in Brussels and Strasbourg. The visiting facilities are aimed at many target audiences, including families, young people and the educational sector. Different activities, such as the permanent exhibitions and role-play game cater to various interests, whether academic or self-inspired. The European Parliament aims to offer an unrivaled visitor experience among parliaments. As part of DG COMM, these activities are run by the Directorate for Visitors.

The Directorate for Visitors aims at making visitors’ experience and engagement with the European Parliament meaningful, memorable, and informative. We do so through clear and precise communication of Parliament’s core business, illustrated by examples of its impact on citizens’ daily lives. We strive to reserve a warm and inclusive welcome to each visitor, individually or part of a group, and strive to learn from our visitors through maximum possible interaction, in all our facilities.
