Planning and Operational Secretariat Unit

The Directorate-General for Security and Safety (DG SAFE) ensures the safety and security of the persons, buildings and assets within the European Parliament’s premises. In addition, it commits to provide high-quality security services by developing modern working methods, digitalised processes and using state-of-the-art technologies and equipment.

In particular, the Unit is responsible for the operational planning and organisation of surveillance and prevention missions for more than 600 colleagues.

Your tasks will include:

• Calculating staff needs to meet operational requirements, which can change depending on political activity, while respecting HR constraints (leave, equal treatment, flexibility, simplicity, and work-life balance);
• Ensuring the quality and accuracy of the database;
• Supporting improvements in planning tools and methods;
• Creating tools to support decision-making, such as statistics and performance indicators;
• Updating the vademecum (planning rules) and, if needed, aligning procedures between the three sites.

You have:

• A university degree (level 6 of EQF or higher obtained at least three months before the starting date of the traineeship) in Business Administration/Management, Data Science, Supply Chain, Public Administration, Human Resources or a related field;
• Good knowledge of Excel; knowledge of Power BI is a plus;
• The capacity to be innovative and creative at work;
• The ability to work in a team, be proactive and be open to working in a dynamic and multicultural environment;
• A sense of confidentiality;
• Fluency in French and/or English.
