Who we are

We are small team in the Cabinet of the Secretary-General of the European Parliament. Among other tasks, we assist and advise the Secretary-General on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and their use in Parliament.

The team works at the point where technology, administration and institutional strategy meet. Together with other teams in the Cabinet, we provide the Secretary-General with the necessary information regarding to ICT services, which means monitoring and coordinating across a range of Directorates-General and services. In practice this involves preparing and reporting on meetings, drawing up and revising notes and briefings on a wide range of topics.

 

Your tasks

Under the guidance of the supervisor, you will help prepare meetings of the relevant ICT governance bodies and follow up on any resulting action points; you will be responsible for collecting, preparing, and organising supporting documents, as well as keeping the team’s records up to date. You may also be required to draft concise memos, summaries, and situational overviews.

 

You are

You have an analytical mind and can summarise complex information into a concise and clear text. You are organised and able to manage several projects and deadlines simultaneously, whilst demonstrating accuracy and a keen eye for detail. You also demonstrate sound communication, collaboration skills, discretion and tact. 

An interest in digital policy, IT governance or technology in the public sector would be an asset, as would a good knowledge of the institutions of the European Union and their decision-making processes. Comfort in dealing with technical subjects is also welcome, although a technical background is not required. Fluency in English is required.

 

You have obtained/will obtain a university degree (level 6 of EQF or higher) at least three months before the starting date of the traineeship.
