The European Parliament has Liaison Offices (EPLOs: European Parliament Liaison Offices) in the EU capitals, as well as an additional regional office in the most populous Member States. EPLOs are responsible for the local implementation of institutional communication activities, with the ultimate goal of enhancing people’s awareness of the impact of the European Parliament on their daily lives and promoting their engagement in the European democratic process.

The Local Multipliers Support Unit of the Directorate for EPLOs acts as a central coordination team, contributing to defining the overall communication strategy for member states and assisting EPLOs in its execution. We provide expertise, monitor and report on the activities of EPLOs, in addition to overseeing and putting in place pan-european engagement projects. In other words, our team works as a bridge between the headquarters of DG COMM and all the EU Member States on youth and citizen engagement projects, inter-institutional cooperation, and much more.

You will support communication and engagement activities that connect the European Parliament's priorities with citizens, young people and wider audiences across the European Union. You will contribute to outreach projects, institutional campaigns and programmes such as the European Parliament Ambassador School (EPAS), extending the European Parliament's reach through the together.eu community, civil society organisations, educational formats and transnational exchange. Your work will support European Parliament Liaison Offices (EPLOs) in delivering activities tailored to local contexts and DG COMM priorities.

• Support projects linked to the together.eu community, EPAS, civil society, youth initiatives, content creators and wider outreach priorities of the Unit;
• Coordinate with EPLOs on local mobilisation and engagement activities adapted to national, regional and local contexts, including events in Brussels, Strasbourg and across Member States;
• Help organise local, national, cross-border and pan-European events involving MEPs, community leaders, civil society, young people and partner networks;
• Support the coordination of institutional campaigns in cooperation with institutional partners and local multiplier networks - including Europe Day, International Women's Day, the LUX Audience Award and the Sakharov Prize;
• Support the coordination and promotion of Europa Experience centres as visitor and learning spaces, in cooperation with the colleagues responsible for their management and floor staff coordination;
• Draft guidelines, practical tools, reports and content to support EPLO activities, campaign delivery, planning and evaluation of campaign impact, visibility and audience engagement;
• Conduct research, draft and edit materials for internal teams;
• Cooperate with DG COMM teams and other relevant European Parliament services to ensure aligned communication and outreach approaches.

• Someone who has obtained/will obtain a university degree (level 6 of EQF or higher) at least three months before the starting date of the traineeship;
• Interested in communication, project coordination, stakeholder outreach, international cooperation, youth engagement, civil society and audience engagement;
• Keen to learn how to analyse, interpret and draft guidelines, strategic documents, reports and briefing materials;
• Able to manage several tasks at once and work effectively in a fast-paced environment;
• A strong researcher with good writing, analytical and organisational skills;
• A critical thinker who can work both independently and as part of a team;
• Comfortable supporting projects, follow-up and reporting for internal teams;
• Able to communicate clearly and adapt messages to different audiences and contexts;
• Proactive, reliable and motivated to learn from senior colleagues and contribute to team objectives;
• Interested in citizen engagement, multiplier networks, youth communication, campaigns and institutional outreach across the European Union.
