Who we are

As the voice of citizens, the European Parliament stands for European democracy. Directorate-General for Communication (DG COMM) amplifies its message of the Parliament to reach every corner of Europe. We help connect Members of Parliament to the people they represent, and we communicate what the Parliament is, what it does, and what it stands for.

When Parliament speaks, we make sure it’s heard.

We are committed communication professionals coming from various professional and academic backgrounds.

About the Relations with Committees and Content Coordination Unit

The unit coordinates communication across EP’s official channels. In a very dynamic political environment, the unit ensures DG COMM staff stay informed about parliamentary decisions and priorities by enabling accurate and consistent messaging. It also leads cross-DG Thematic Teams, bringing together colleagues from different services to plan communication on specific topics.

The unit’s activities are structured around two main pillars:

  1. Coordination of Thematic Teams and relations with EP committees
  2. Editorial coordination of DG COMM’s channels via the Editorial Committee

The main tasks ensured by our unit, among others, are the following:

  • Chairing and coordinating the Editorial Committee in line with Parliament’s priorities, fostering inter-unit cooperation and integrating long- and short-term planning;
  • Coordinating the Thematic Teams to ensure comprehensive coverage of political priorities and support communication activities involving committees, delegations, MEPs and other DGs;
  • Developing and coordinating communication plans for priority topics and events, overseeing their implementation and reporting back to the policy DGs;
  • Monitoring and approving DG COMM’s weekly products through the General Planning, ensuring quality, consistency and coherence across producing units;
  • Preparing integrated planning for Directors’ meetings, representing the Editorial Committee at Directors’ Committee meetings and ensuring effective follow-up between both levels;
  • Liaising between the President’s media team and the Editorial Committee;
  • Participating in working groups whose activities may affect editorial narratives, targeting or planning.
