Who we are
The Directorate-General for Parliamentary Democracy Partnerships (DG PART) is tasked with fostering cooperation with national parliaments as well as coordinating the efforts made by Parliament liaison offices and representations outside of the European Union with the objective to streamline actions aimed at promoting and upholding parliamentary democracy in Europe and beyond.
The Directorate for Resources provides active support to all DG PART colleagues on matters related to resource management - in particular staff, training, office space, contracts, and budget - in order to ensure the optimal use of DG PART’s resources and expertise. It also plays a key role in developing new partnerships with like-minded countries and international organisations, while supporting and implementing administrative and technological innovation across DG PART. In addition, the Directorate for Resources assists the Director-General and DG PART’s Directorates in creating and maintaining a positive and efficient work environment for all colleagues across the Directorate-General.
Your tasks
Your responsibilities will include:
- Collecting and analysing data in view to report on activities of the whole Directorate (including past activities);
- Providing written contributions to e.g. presentations, articles, briefings, letters and notes;
- Drafting regular reports and analysing findings to improve HR and financial management processes;
- Coordinating and cooperating with internal and external stakeholders;
- Supporting the development of HR dashboards and the production of metrics and automating their collection;
- Contribute to any new projects being developed under the responsibility of the Director for Resources;
- Assisting with the logistical coordination of various events organised by the Directorate or at Directorate-General level.
You are
We are looking for a motivated trainee with a background in business administration and experience in data analysis to support the Director for Resources. The successful candidate will preferably hold a Master's degree in Business Administration or a related field.
The following skills, competencies, and personal attributes are required:
- Comfortable working with numbers and datasets, and producing statistics from different sources and databases;
- Strong interest in communication, data analysis and processes;
- Structured thinker who can translate data into strategic insights;
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team;
- Discretion and a strong sense of confidentiality;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to write report articles and present data clearly;
- Strong organisational and coordination skills;
- Attention to detail, with well-developed analytical skills and a customer-oriented mindset;
- Creative and proactive approach to tasks and challenges;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (in particular Excel - pivot tables, formulas, charts) and other relevant digital tools;
- Effective time management and the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently;
- Good working knowledge of English and/or French;
- A holder of a university degree (level 6 of EQF or higher) at least three months before the starting date of the traineeship;
- Previous experience in Business Administration and data analysis (through studies and/or professional experience) would be an asset.
