The Directorate-General for Information Technologies and Cybersecurity (DG ITEC) delivers digitally advanced, secure, resilient, compliant and sustainable information and communications technology (ICT) services.
The ServiceNow Service (SNOW), within the Business Platforms and Artificial Intelligence Unit of the Directorate-General for Information Technologies and Cybersecurity (DG ITEC), is responsible for the design, maintenance and continuous development of the European Parliament's ServiceNow platform.
ServiceNow is a central enterprise platform supporting digital process management, workflow automation and service delivery across the institution. The SNOW Service manages the full lifecycle of the platform, from platform configuration and development to integration with other systems, continuous improvement and support to business stakeholders.
The team works closely with business units across the European Parliament to analyse, model and automate processes, develop digital services and applications, and improve the efficiency and quality of institutional services.
Your tasks
Under the supervision of the SNOW Service Manager, the trainee will contribute to activities related to digital process management, workflow automation and the continuous improvement of the ServiceNow platform.
The main tasks may include:
- Supporting the analysis and modelling of business processes to identify opportunities for digitalisation, automation and optimisation;
- Assisting in the design, configuration and testing of workflows, service catalogue items and digital services within ServiceNow;
- Supporting the configuration and testing of ServiceNow modules and capabilities, such as IT Service Management (ITSM), Service Catalogue and Flow Designer;
- Participating in meetings and workshops with business units to gather, analyse and document requirements;
- Contributing to the development and maintenance of technical and functional documentation, user guidance and knowledge management materials;
- Supporting quality assurance, testing and validation activities for new functionalities and platform improvements;
- Contributing to the analysis and continuous improvement of existing digital processes and services;
- Supporting studies and exploratory activities related to digital transformation, enterprise service management, workflow automation and low-code/no-code technologies;
- Working with members of the ServiceNow team and other IT specialists to support the delivery of solutions for business stakeholders.
You are
- You have obtained/will obtain a university degree (level 6 of EQF or higher) at least three months before the starting date of the traineeship;
- A graduate ideally in computer science, information systems, information and communication technology, engineering, business informatics or a related field;
- Interested in digital transformation, enterprise service management, business process management and workflow automation;
- Interested in understanding how technology can be used to improve organisational processes and services;
- Familiar with, or willing to learn, cloud platforms and low-code/no-code development environments;
- Analytical, structured and able to understand and model business processes and logical workflows;
- Curious and willing to learn new technologies and digital tools;
- Able to analyse problems, identify solutions and communicate ideas clearly;
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a multicultural and international environment;
- Motivated to work in a European institutional environment and contribute to services used across the European Parliament;
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
