Directorate for Customers and Digital Workplace

The Directorate-General for Information Technologies and Cybersecurity (DG ITEC) provides the European Parliament with information and communication technology services as well as printing and distribution services.

The Customers and Digital Workplace Directorate (CARE) focuses on customer care and the user experience. As single point of contact for all users and corporate customers, this directorate hosts all DG ITEC teams providing direct user support services, including management of IT equipment and videoconferencing systems. The directorate is also responsible for the catalogue of services, management of digital workplace, unified printing, standard configuration and conducting Service Level Agreements and Memorandums of Understanding with our customers.

The successful candidate will contribute to the analysis and evolution of data-driven services provided by the CARE Directorate, with a particular focus on IT asset management and digital sovereignty.

The traineeship will involve analysing emerging business and technological needs, contributing to the assessment of IT asset management practices, and exploring European IT Service Management tools and solutions. The candidate will assess how these solutions could support the evolution of the Directorate’s service portfolio, strengthen its strategic autonomy and contribute to a more sovereign and resilient digital environment.

The candidate will also contribute to research and comparative analyses of available European solutions, identify relevant technological and service-management trends, and support the preparation of recommendations for the future development of the Directorate’s digital services.

• You have obtained/will obtain a university degree (level 6 of EQF or higher) at least three months before the starting date of the traineeship;
• Graduate in the fields of Computer Science, IT, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, IT Service Management, or another field relevant to the duties and tasks;
• The candidate should be user-oriented, analytical, and have excellent communication skills;
• Knowledge of IT Service Management concepts, IT asset management, data analysis and digital technologies, as well as an interest in European IT solutions, digital sovereignty and emerging technologies;
• Ability to analyse and assess technical solutions and emerging needs, and to communicate complex technical issues and findings to non-technical audiences;
• Written and spoken fluency in English is a requirement; a good knowledge of other EU languages would be an asset;
• The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, organised, and able to work independently ;
• Experience in research, comparative analysis, preparing recommendations or creating technical documentation is a plus.
