The Directorate-General for Infrastructure and Logistics (DG INLO) is responsible for overseeing the European Parliament's vast infrastructure portfolio, which spans around 1.3 million square meters of building space across Europe. This includes a variety of tasks that are crucial to ensuring the smooth functioning and sustainability of the Parliament's operations. DG INLO's responsibilities go beyond just building management; it is also in charge of a range of essential services such as catering, mail distribution, furniture management, and transport for Parliament Members and staff. This comprehensive approach ensures that all physical and logistical needs are met, supporting the European Parliament’s political activities in a sustainable way.

The Information Technology and IT Support Unit is dedicated to contributing to the smooth operations of DG INLO by providing secure and fit-for-purpose technological solutions. The team supports DG INLO’s daily activities by delivering high-quality technical assistance and safeguarding the integrity of its IT systems.

In the context of the development of its activities, the Information Technology and IT Support Unit of DG INLO is looking for a person with a qualification in Cybersecurity.

Key tasks include assisting in cybersecurity-related activities such as:

• Monitoring security alerts;
• Performing vulnerability assessments;
• Conducting security audits and reviews;
• Supporting security awareness-raising activities;
• Performing risk assessments;
• Assisting with the implementation of security policies and procedures;
• Tracking the outcomes of reviews and audits;
• Implementing and following up on action plans to address identified vulnerabilities.
• You will learn cybersecurity in the context of Building Management Systems (BMS). This role offers an opportunity to dive deep into the integration of smart technologies and gain insight into the security challenges faced by a large international organisation in the current sensitive context.

Furthermore, the role involves:

• Compiling and maintaining a comprehensive asset inventory using SharePoint;
• Gathering and consolidating information from a diverse group of stakeholders within DG INLO.

• You have obtained/will obtain a university degree (level 6 of EQF or higher) at least three months before the starting date of the traineeship;
• You hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher in IT, Cybersecurity, or a related field, with a focus on network security, IoT, and cybersecurity. You have experience with SharePoint and demonstrate excellent communication, organisational, and coordination skills;
• You are comfortable working in a cross-functional and multicultural environment, collaborating with different stakeholders to ensure that high cybersecurity standards are maintained;
• You are a proactive and solution-oriented problem solver, with the ability to analyse security issues, identify appropriate solutions, and follow up on corrective actions;
• You are able to stay up to date with the latest cybersecurity threats, technologies, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices, and apply this knowledge to your daily activities;
• You have a strong interest in cybersecurity, network infrastructure, IoT, and Building Management Systems (BMS), and are motivated to develop your expertise in these areas.
