The Directorate-General for Infrastructure and Logistics (DG INLO) is responsible for overseeing the European Parliament's vast infrastructure portfolio, which spans around 1.3 million square meters of building space across Europe. This includes a variety of tasks that are crucial to ensuring the smooth functioning and sustainability of the Parliament's operations. DG INLO's responsibilities go beyond just building management; it is also in charge of a range of essential services such as catering, mail distribution, furniture management, and transport for Parliament Members and staff. This comprehensive approach ensures that all physical and logistical needs are met, supporting the European Parliament’s political activities in a sustainable way.

In the context of the development of its activities, the Brussels Upkeep Unit of DG INLO is looking for a person with a qualification in Architecture, to support the team in the implementation of its various projects and activities.

Our unit is looking for an architecture trainee to support the team in the implementation of its various projects and activities.

The trainee should hold a degree in architecture and will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, gaining diverse experience in project design, project follow-up and construction management.

The main tasks will be structured around the following four areas:

a. Support for design activities
Assist the team with project design activities, including the preparation of 2D drawings, 3D models, presentations, photomontages and 3D renderings.

b. Support for project and construction processes
Provide support to the team in monitoring specific aspects of project and construction processes, according to the needs of the different projects.

c. Construction works follow-up
Assist with the follow-up of ongoing construction works, including the preparation and monitoring of interventions, as well as coordination with the various stakeholders whenever necessary.

d. Support for graphic design and visual communication activities
Support the team in the preparation of graphic and visual communication materials related to the unit’s projects, including document layout, presentations, visual materials, diagrams, infographics, wayfinding signage and other graphic elements required for the implementation of projects.

You have obtained/will obtain a university degree (level 6 of EQF or higher) at least three months before the starting date of the traineeship.

The ideal candidate will hold a degree in architecture and demonstrate a keen interest in architectural design, graphic representation and project development. Professional experience in an architectural practice will be considered an asset.

The candidate must have a good knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) software, in particular AutoCAD, as well as 3D modelling and rendering tools. The candidate must also have a good command of the main graphic design software, such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
