The European Parliament stands for European democracy. We help connect it to people.  This entails providing complete and impartial information to citizens and media about the European Parliament, and assisting Members in their communication activities.

The Directorate-General for Communication (DG COMM) strives to reach and engage the right audience with the right message at the right time and in doing so, deliver world-class communication. We are committed communication professionals coming from various professional and academic backgrounds.

We are the European Parliament Liaison Office in Spain - Barcelona Regional Office, part of DG COMM.

 

Your tasks

In the Barcelona office, you will help with:

  • Organising debates, press conferences, presentations and other events to increase awareness on politics, subject to Parliament’s agenda: with Members of the European Parliament, citizens and stakeholders;
  • Holding events to promote EU values: human rights (Sakharov Prize), women’s rights (International Women Day), Europe Day, EU culture (LUX Audience Award), etc.;
  • Assisting relations with the press, including searching for accurate answers to press questions, organising seminars for journalists in Brussels and/or Strasbourg, press conferences;
  • Drafting communication products for the press and other targets: press releases, newsletters, leaflets, etc. and analysing media reports;
  • Our social media and web strategy.

 

You are

Do you:

  • Have very good knowledge of English or French and excellent knowledge of Spanish (Catalan extremely welcome as well)?
  • Have a degree in journalism or have any other communication studies and/or background?
  • Enjoy organising and communicating?
  • Have very good computer and drafting skills?
  • Enjoy social media and publishing content?
