The Directorate-General for Personnel (DG PERS) is responsible for managing, in the broadest sense of the term, the Human Resources available to the European Parliament's Secretariat to provide Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) with the assistance they need to fulfil their mandate.
More specifically, DG PERS manages the different categories of staff throughout their career, in fields such as:
• Selection, recruitment, welcoming, training, career development
• Management of rights and obligations, remuneration, allowances, pension rights
• Protection and well-being at work
• Strategies to improve and promote equality and diversity
• Trainee management
• Internal communication to the institution.
One of the main challenges in 2019 will be the preparation to the welcoming of the new staff (including Parliamentary Assistants) of MEPs following the European Elections. A large number of DG PERS traineeships will allow participating in this unique experience.

The APA Front Office Unit is waiting for you!
The APA Front Office Unit is responsible for the recruitment of APAs and is the contact point for questions regarding APAs’ Human Resources matters (namely recruitment, contract modifications, resignations and dismissal procedures).
As a trainee in the APA Front Office Unit:
You will be at the heart of events in the field of human resources - in direct contact with the Accredited Parliamentary Assistants (APA), you will provide information and advice regarding the recruitment, modification and end of contract procedures
You will manage the requests of the Members of European Parliament regarding the contracts of the Accredited Parliamentary Assistants
You will acquire practical knowledge necessary for human resources management, including its legal aspects
You will participate in meetings, trainings and all other activities of the unit and you will bring a valuable support to our team.
We are waiting for candidates who have :
Good communication skills and flair for interpersonal contact as well as client oriented approach
Good organizational skills and ability to work in a team as well as independently
Good knowledge of English and French; knowledge of another language or languages will be an asset
Good knowledge of MS Office tools (Powerpoint, Word, Excel) and readiness to work with new applications
Good legal competences will be an asset.
